Weekly CEO & CFO Move Wrap

ADM Stock Tanks after CFO Put on Administrative Leave

Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM) headlines this week’s CEO and CFO moves after putting its CFO Vikram Luthar on administrative leave following an U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and internal investigation.  ADM stock quickly dropped to $51.69 — a 24% 1-day drop — and now faces a class-action lawsuit from shareholder Raymond Chow, who alleges that the company misled investors about the profitability of its nutrition segment. The lawsuit claims that executive stock awards linked to the segment’s performance incentivized top executives, including CFO Vikram Luthar, to make false statements. The lawsuit seeks damages for investors who purchased ADM shares between April 30, 2020, and that date.

For readers of this blog, of special interest will also be Heidrick & Struggles (HSII) getting a new CEO as long-time CEO Krishnan Rajagopalan steps down. The CEO change is coming at an important time as HSII stock has dropped -30% over the past year.
