Executive Moves Update – October 10, 2025

by | Oct 10, 2025

About the Weekly
Each week, Boardroom Alpha tracks the most notable executive moves across U.S. public companies—highlighting key leadership changes that may signal strategic shifts, governance challenges, or opportunities for investors. From CEO transitions to CFO appointments and board resignations, our weekly update offers a quick pulse on the evolving leadership landscape in corporate America.

This Week in the Boardroom: CEO Transitions, CFO Shakeups, and New Board Leadership

This week’s leadership changes revealed a clear divide between companies in crisis and those repositioning for recovery. James A. Brock was appointed CEO of Core Natural Resources (CNR) following the resignation of Paul A. Lang. With a C board rating, -8% 1-year TSR, and high activist risk score (83), Brock inherits a company facing governance strain and operational uncertainty, where improved oversight and investor confidence will be key.

At Acadia Healthcare (ACHC), Todd Young became Chief Financial Officer, succeeding a departing finance chief after a brief tenure. The company’s C- board rating, -53.7% TSR, and activist vulnerability score of 94 point to deeper strategic and performance issues that Young will need to help address. Similarly, Campbell’s (CPB) named Todd E. Cunfer as Executive Vice President and CFO, replacing Carrie L. Anderson. With a -34.3% TSR and heightened activist scrutiny, the move signals a renewed focus on cost discipline and execution after a difficult year for the food maker.

Diebold Nixdorf (DBD), which carries an A- rating and a +30.8% TSR, took a different tack—realigning leadership to support momentum rather than reverse it. Joe Myers was promoted to Chief Revenue Officer and Frank Baur to Chief Operating Officer, consolidating commercial and operational oversight following a strong post-restructuring recovery.

In the medical device sector, Martha G. Aronson succeeded Fred P. Lampropoulos as President and CEO of Merit Medical Systems (MMSI). With a B+ board rating, -13.7% TSR, and recent SEC investigations, the transition appears aimed at restoring confidence and signaling a new phase of governance stability.

At the board level, Karen Peacock joined IDEXX Laboratories (IDXX) as an independent director, enhancing a B+ rated board that has delivered a +32.5% TSR. Phillip R. Gallagher also joined the Dycom Industries (DY) board following a +52.3% TSR, reinforcing the board’s focus on sustaining shareholder gains and operational performance.

As the fourth quarter begins, leadership turnover at underperforming companies like Acadia, Campbell’s, and Core Natural Resources stands in contrast to board strengthening at higher-performing firms like IDEXX, Dycom, and Diebold Nixdorf—a reflection of where pressure is building and where confidence remains strong.
