MongoDB Sets Ittycheria’s Interim CEO Package

Mongodb (MDB) · $29.5B · 1Y TSR +15.3% · board C+ · activist ELEVATED ·Technology

MongoDB (MDB) signed an employment agreement on Oct. 14 with Dev Ittycheria, who ran the company as CEO from 2014 to 2025 and came back as interim president and chief executive on Sept. 28, when CJ Desai left for Meta after about 10 months. We covered that change the day it happened: MongoDB’s CEO leaves for Meta after 10 months.

The agreement replaces the advisory agreement he signed when he handed over the job in 2025. It pays Ittycheria a $500,000 salary and a $500,000 sign-on bonus, and grants him restricted stock units worth $15 million that vest in four quarterly installments through Oct. 1, 2027. He has agreed to keep working for MongoDB in some role for at least 12 months after a new CEO starts, and through at least April 1, 2028.

The board also gave chief financial officer Michael Berry a $10 million retention award in stock units that vest in three installments through April 2028. Shareholders gave Ittycheria 83% support in his latest election as a director.

Bausch + Lomb (BLCO) said Brent Saunders left the chief executive job and the board effective Oct. 12. Thomas Appio became interim chief executive on the same date, while remaining chairman and chief executive of Bausch Health. Bausch + Lomb will pay Saunders a $75.5 million lump-sum cash payment under his separation agreement.

Saunders leaves a stock up 11% over the past year at Bausch + Lomb. Saunders, 56, previously ran Allergan and led the drugmaker’s sale to AbbVie. Activist risk and board ratings are derived from Boardroom Alpha’s proprietary scoring. Activist risk is forward-looking — a quantitative estimate of likelihood of activist engagement, not a current campaign. Board ratings reflect the average tenure-quality score of focal directors. TSR is total shareholder return; one-year figures are simple returns and multi-year figures are annualized. Spreads vs the S&P 500 are in percentage points. Return figures are omitted where a merger, spin-off or similar corporate action breaks the price series.
