End of an era at TradeWeb

Lee Olesky, CEO of financial services company Tradeweb (TW), steps down as CEO at the operator of electronic marketplaces for rates, credit, equities and money markets, after 15 years in the role. Olesky gave the heads up early—his departure is effective December 31, 2022. William (Billy) Hult, currently President at Tradeweb Markets Inc. (TWM) will take over the role. Hult has been TWM’s President since September 2008.

Biocept clean sweep as CEO and CFO leave abruptly

Molecular diagnostic supplier Biocept (BIOC) made some bold changes this week. Michael W. Nall resigned from his position as the President and Chief Executive Officer, including as the principal executive officer, of Biocept and from the Company’s Board of Directors. Hall will be succeeded by Samuel D. Riccitelli as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer. Riccitelli has a strong track record of selling molecular diagnostic companies. He was previously CEO at Signal Genetics, Inc., which was sold to Miragen Therapeutics, Inc. and COO of Genoptix, Inc., which was sold to Novartis in 2011.

Timothy C. Kennedy also resigned from his position as Biocept CFO, COO and Secretary. In connection with their resignations, the Company entered into separation agreements with both Nall and Kennedy– each has agreed to provide the Company with a full release of claims. Kennedy will be succeeded by Antonino Morales as Interim CFO. Morales has over 30 years of broad leadership experience in the U.S. and Latin America and was President and CEO of Apoyo Financiero, Inc. from June 2017 to March 2020.
