Ulta Beauty Forced to Furlough Associates, but Still Fights for Employees
April 9, 2020

Ulta Beauty [ULTA] announced that it will have to furlough most associates starting on April 19, 202o. Down just over 20% YTD, but up from a low of being down 40% at its low, Ulta is just at the beginning of the fight as it remains unclear when the country will re-open for business.

Despite this, Ulta and its leadership remain committed to putting #employeesfirst:

  • Paying distribution center workers a $2-per-hour wage premium for their continued commitment
  • CEO Mary Dillon made a personal donation of $500,000 to the Ulta Beauty Associate Relief Program
  • Executive team and board making personal donations

Ulta is also doing what it can to directly support the fight against #COVID19 by donating 450,000 medical grade gloves from its salons to hospitals in need across the country in collaboration with FEMA.

Thankfully Ulta isn’t the only company putting employees first during these hard times. We’re covering some of these companies here: http://www.boardroomalpha.com/tag/employeesfirst
