All retailers are facing tough choices, but many still fighting to put their #employeesfirst. Just yesterday we saw this from Carters Inc. [CRI], Ralph Lauren [RL], and Abercrombie & Fitch Co.[ANF]:
Carters Inc. announced yesterday that it had to #furlough all store employees, but will continue to provide benefits and is giving incentives to distribution center workers who are on the front lines of keeping the business going.
Ralph Lauren, among other actions, has allocated $10 million for emergency relief, with the majority of those funds earmarked to assist employees with urgent needs resulting from the global pandemic. Ralph Lauren personally foregoing his entire salary for Fiscal Year 2021 in addition to his full Fiscal Year 2020 bonus.
Abercrombie & Fitch Co. forced to #furlough its North America and EMEA region store associates beginning April 12, but will fund 100% of the health premiums for eligible associates impacted by these measures.
